Time: 2 hours, 20 minutes
Ingredients
40 large marshmallows
6 cups toasted rice cereal
3 tablespoons butter
red and green food coloring
mini chocolate chips
Directions
Melt 1 1/2 tablespoons butter in a large pot.
Add 20 marshmallows and stir over low heat until melted.
Stir in green food coloring until thoroughly coated.
Remove from heat and add 3 cups of cereal to marshmallows. (**Start with 2.5 cups and slowly add more if needed.)
Stir until cereal is well coated.
Coat a pie pan with non-stick cooking spray.
Spray your hands with non-stick cooking spray and place the green cereal (while still warm) in the outer part of the pan, about 1 inch thick.
Repeat steps above using red food coloring.
Place the red cereal in the center of the pan, spreading out evenly with the green cereal.
Add a few mini chocolate chips to the top of the treats.
Let sit for at least 2 hours before slicing.
